You gotta start somewhere

If you are reading this you are most likely our friend or a family member. You may, or may not be aware of our struggle with infertility over the last few years. We are starting a new journey that we pray will make us parents in the end. Over the summer I had LOTS of tests and we finally have some answers. After praying about our options we are excited to begin the process of in vitro fertilization pretty soon. After hearing “no” for 3 ½ years I am once again hopeful that we will be parents. We know this is not a guarantee, but God has given us a peace to move forward. As we do, we ask that you pray for us and our future children every step of the way. For that reason we wanted to share our journey, the good, the bad and the ugly. We know that whatever our outcome may be, our God is with us every step of the way. Infertility can be a very scary, very lonely process. It’s an emotional roller-coaster most of the time, which makes it hard to share with others. Our prayer is that somehow our experiences may somehow help others. We also covet everyone’s prayers and will be asking for them every step of the way. I know we already have lots of prayers being lifted up for us daily, but we’ll take all we can get! Thanks for reading, but most of all thanks for your prayers!

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7

  1. I will be praying for you guys. It took us two years to conceive our first so I had a little taste of the struggle but can't pretend to fully understand yours. We have other friends who have undergone in vitro and their first child is due this month. We celebrate with them and pray for a future celebration with you guys too. I'm so glad you've decided to share your struggle with us so we can share the victory too!! To God be the glory!! I love you, girl!

  2. I'm so glad you are choosing to share this journey with us. It is not an easy one, but will be well worth it. God has blessed you with peace throughout this and I can see it in you. Doesn't mean some days are not difficult, but you have handled it with grace. I cannot wait for the day you hold your baby, it will be amazing and you guys are going to be amazing parents! I will be praying for strength, understanding, patience, and courage for you both. I love you and am always here for you!

  3. This is so exciting! Praise God for no side effects! Praise God for giving you the courage, peace, and understanding to go through all of this. One day your child will realize what you went through to bring them into your family and how blessed he or she is! Of course, after they are out of the teenage years will they only begin to understand that.
Beth Moore said "I am convinced that God would rather hear our honest please for more of what we lack than host of pious platitudes from an unbelieving heart". Well, after I looked up pious in the dictionary I realized that what she said is so true. So, don't worry about sharing too much information or being so specific in prayer. God wants your honest cry and plea, not what sounds the best. My honest cry and plea to the Lord is for you and Nate to have success with this procedure and deliver a sweet baby next summer! Amen! I love you both and am here anytime!
By the way, it means done or said to seem religious.
